Description:
Screenwriting at AFI focuses on narrative storytelling in an environment designed to simulate the world of the professional screenwriter. Mindful that today's screenwriter struggles to maintain artistic integrity in a highly competitive professional environment, AFI encourages writers to find their unique voice, while emphasizing the critical importance of working as part of a creative team. The heart of the AFI Screenwriting program is the relationship between the Screenwriting Fellows and the exemplary screenwriting faculty who serve as their teachers/mentors, guiding and supporting each writer's development in an intimate workshop setting. In these core Screenwriting Workshops, Fellows grow as cinematic storytellers through critiques and analyses of their work by faculty and peers.
